Award Winning Brazilian Smoked Jalapeno Citrus Sauce
Sweet, Smoky, Spicy – and Addicting!
Brazilian Smoked Jalapeno was inspired by the flavors of Brazilian barbecue. This bold spicy sauce contains artisan smoked jalapeños and fresh citrus flavors. It is great to use on the grill, as a marinade, or -like it’s done in Brazil – as a sauce for dipping. (Ingredients: Smoked red jalapeno ,San Marzano Tomatoes, Smoked poblano peppers, Orange Juice, Lime Juice, Lemon Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar, Sweet Onions, non-GMO canola oil, Organic spices)
Brazilian Grilled Shrimp
This is an easy recipe, and really highlights the flavors of this complex spicy sauce. Place the shrimp on a skewer, and season with salt & pepper to taste. Near the end of grilling, brush a liberal amount of the Brazilian sauce on the shrimp. Serve with a side of sauce for dipping, or adding to your side of yellow rice.
Barbeque Brazilian-Style
Grilling meat (or veggie) on an open flame is about as basic as it can get. The way most Brazilians like to eat is to add the sauce while eating. Try the Brazilian sauce with French fries – and you’ll never use ketchup again!
Sri Lanka Coconut Lime Hot Sauce
Award Winning Bold Flavors of Southeast Asia
This traditional Sri Lankan sauce is made from coconut, shallots, dried whole chilies, lime juice, and salt – it is both spicy and refreshing, and very addicting. In Sri Lanka, it is mostly used as an accompaniment with rice and curries, but can be used with any meat, fish, or vegetable dish. (Ingredients: Coconut milk, Hot peppers, Water, Grapeseed oil, Shallots, Garlic, Rice wine vinegar, Lime Juice, Fish sauce, Salt, Tamarind Paste)
Chicken Satay
The Serious Foodie takes one of the staples of Southeast Asian street food – satay – and adds the wonderful Sri Lanka combo of sweat/sour/spicy flavors in this Sri Lanka Chicken Satay dish. Simply take a generous amount of the sauce, then rub the mixture into the meat with your fingers. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours. Skewer the meat, and cook through on a grill. Generously baste with the Sri Lanka Coconut Lime sauce while grilling.
Fried Fish Sliders
Make some fried fish or fried chicken. Add some pickled veggies (onions, radishes, and cucumbers work best), then slather the roll with the Coconut Lime Hot Sauce.
Calabrian Hot Pepper Relish
“The Best Spicy Sauce You’ve Ever Tasted!”
The spicy, complex peppers from the hills of Calabria are the foundation of this wonderful sauce, based on my Nonna’s original Calabrian recipe. This sauce is the perfect balance of spicy & savory. Add a heaping spoonful to a bowl of pasta and fresh basil for an easy gourmet meal. (Ingredients: Red wine vinegar, Calabrian peppers, Roasted Red Peppers, Olive Oil, Water, Lemon Juice, Garlic, Sugar, Dried mushrooms, Fresh Parsley)
Easy Calabrian Pasta
This Easy Calabrian Pasta recipe is a bit unique – a one-pot recipe for both cooking the pasta and the sauce. What is so cool about this method (besides one less pot to clean) is that a creamy consistency is created because the starchy pasta water is already part of the dish. All you need is the pasta, the Calabrian Pepper Relish, and some fresh mozzarella (which really buffers the heat from the chilies).
Any Sandwich is Better with Calabrian Chili Relish
Whether the sandwich is store-bought or home-made, whether it’s a Caprese (no meat) version, or a bunch of roasted veggies (completely vegan), it will taste amazing with a spoonful of the Calabrian Hot Pepper relish.
Indonesian Sambal
“Better Than Sriracha!”
Sambal is an Indonesian chile paste that is simple on its surface – crushed red chiles, lime juice, vinegar, garlic, and salt. It is actually a very complex, fun hot sauce that can be used on everything, including pizza! Ingredients: Red chilies, Rice wine vinegar, Roasted Red Peppers, Lemon Juice, Lime Juice, Water, Garlic, Sugar, Ginger
Indonesian Stir Fry
Shown here: a quick stir fry with veggies & shrimp, using the Indonesian Sambal at the end of cooking, and along side for dipping.
Tacos with Indonesian Crema
Simple! Combine 1/2 cup sour cream, 3 tablespoons of the Serious Foodie Indonesian Sambal, and 1/4 tsp of kosher salt in food processor or use a hand blender and blend to a smooth consistency. Store in fridge until ready to serve.
Vietnamese Sweet/Hot Chili Sauce
“This sauce is perfect – just like in Vietnam!”
We use this sauce on anything from spring rolls, to dumplings, to quick-fried tofu, to scrambled eggs. It is surprisingly great as a grill sauce for fish and shrimp, using it at the end of cooking. We also love to us this sauce as a dressing on a Vietnamese styled roast pork sandwich. Our version is gluten-free, and focuses on the flavors of our proprietary fresh chilies.
Ingredients: Rice wine vinegar, Water, Hot peppers, Sugar, Fish sauce, Salt
Easy, Healthy Vietnamese Grilled Chicken Bowl
We combined 1/2 cup of lime juice plus a 6 oz. jar of the Sweet Chili Hot Sauce to make a combination marinade, dressing, and dipping sauce. Marinate the chicken for 1 to 3 hours in the fridge with this combination, then grill. Make a salad of fresh herbs (mint, cilantro, and Thai basil work the best), cucumbers, green onion, and scallion. Mix everything with the same lime/sauce combination before serving.
Vietnamese Stir Fried Shrimp & Veggies
For this recipe, we combined 1/2 cup of lime juice, 6 oz. jar of the Sweet Chili Hot Sauce, and 1/4 cup of the Indonesian Sambal for a bit of extra spice. Marinate the shrimp for 1 to 3 hours in the fridge with this combination, then stir fry or grill everything. Add a bunch of fresh herbs (mint, cilantro, and Thai basil work the best), then mix everything with the same lime/sauce combination before serving. Serve with a side of jasmine rice.
